Cox speaks on split
Courteney Cox isn’t ready to give up on David Arquette, saying in her first interview since their split went public that their separation shouldn’t be taken as a sign they’re getting divorced.
“I don’t know what will happen, but this is not like we’re getting divorced,” Cox tells TV Week (via PEOPLE). “This is a separation and I think that takes a lot of courage … Whatever is supposed to happen will be the best thing for us.”
That said, Cox says that things aren’t looking good in the compatibility department. “Sometimes you just realize ‘Wow, we actually have grown apart.’”
Cox also addressed Arquette’s gaffe-riddled interview with Howard Stern, in which the actor over-shared about the couple’s sex life and Cox’s character faults.
“[David] is a kook. It’s not shocking and Howard Stern, he loves him and I’m a fan of Howard Stern … David is an entertainer and I’m sure the people who listen to the radio are entertained by his stories.”
Cox and Arquette, who announced their separation last month after 11 years of marriage, will soon share the screen in a thriller that’s sure to join its predecessors in many Halloween movie marathons to come: ‘Scream 4.’ The Wes Craven-directed sequel opens in April 2011.
On Sunday, they paired up to go trick-or-treating with their 6-year-old daughter, Coco.
