The situation as a teeny bopper

After his glorious/terrible family turtleneck photo went big online, it was only a matter of time until we got to see more of Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino as a youngster.

And boy, was it worth the wait. The ‘Jersey Shore’ star is shown in all his youthful glory at RadarOnline.com, including his kindergarten photo (right), his eighth grade graduation picture and a shot from a karate tournament.

Sorrentino’s siblings, Marc and Melissa, are also shown in the photos. A family friend told Radar, “Their mom, Linda, always liked to dress the boys impeccably. Mike always dressed for the ladies even at a young age.”

Chef’s face revenge

Nothing quite spoils a $35 plate of lobster risotto like the specter of revolution.

A kind of proletariat fever appears to be sweeping through some of New York’s finest restaurants. Forget picket lines, though. These workers are dragging their celebrity-chef bosses to court.

As the Wall Street Journal reports, famed Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto is the latest in a string of prominent restaurateurs to face lawsuits alleging violations of state and federal labor laws. A former employee of his New York City restaurant, Morimoto, is filing suit for depriving him of tip money. A similar suit was also filed this week against chef Chris Cannon and his business partner, Michael White, purveyors of such choice cuisine as salt-cod rigatoni and swordfish-belly confit at their three-star eateries Alto, Convivio and Marea.

This comes a month after the city’s seemingly most indefatigable gastronome, Mario Batali, was slapped with a federal suit by two employees who claim they were cheated out of their tips while working at Batali’s flagship restaurant, Babbo. That suit has morphed into a class-action affair, with nearly 20 more angry ex-employees piling on.

Lagy Gaga wears meat bikini

Lady Gaga proves she has raw fashion sense. Posing on the September cover of Vogue Hommes Japan, the ‘Poker Face’ singer dons nothing but pieces of raw meat strung together to create a bikini.

The carnivorous shoot — snapped by Terry Richardson — comes after the magazine revealed images of the pop star in drag as “Jo Calderone.” Sporting a platinum blonde bob and scarlet lips, the performer poses with essentially half a cow hanging from her naked body.

Bon appetit!

Of course, PETA isn’t pleased with her raw fashion sense. “Oh, Lady Gaga’s job is to do outlandish things, and this certainly qualifies as outlandish because meat is something you want to avoid putting on or in your body,” PETA’s President, Ingrid Newkirk, told the Daily News

.
Gaga’s magazine cover is also accompanied by the new issue of Japanese Men’s Vogue, which features an interview and photo spread with the singer’s male alter ego, Jo Calderone. In the interview, Calderone claims to be a friend of Gaga’s, as well as her occasional lover.

“I met her at a shoot [photographer] Nick Knight was doing,” Calderone told the mag. “She’s f***ing beautiful, and funny, and interesting. I was a little nervous for Nick to start shooting. She said, ‘Don’t be baby, you were born this way.’ I took her out after. The rest is private.”

Dr.OZ talks cancer scare

Health guru Dr. Mehmet Oz is now at high risk for developing cancer. He had a recent brush with the disease during a routine procedure and plans to disclose more Tuesday during the season premiere of his show.

Dr. Oz revealed last week that he has a precancerous polyp on his colon, which was caught early enough that it won’t likely turn into something more serious — for now.

“This was a shake-up for me,” he told People magazine. “I have done everything right. I don’t have any family history, and yet I’m ‘high risk’ now.”

Oz’s popular syndicated TV show may have saved him from an early death — or at least a long battle with cancer — as the abnormal cells were found during a colonoscopy that he was taping for his program.

‘LA Ink’ star Kat Von D and Jesse James are dating

‘LA Ink’ star Kat Von D and Jesse James are dating — we already know that. What we didn’t know until today is that they’re in love, according to PEOPLE.

“Jesse is only my ninth boyfriend. I don’t hang out with anybody unless I am in love,” Von D, 28, tells PEOPLE.

Asked if she feels James, 41, who split from wife Sandra Bullock earlier this year after being caught with a myriad of mistresses, might be “The One,” Von D said, “I believe he is, so yeah.”

Their relationship blossomed playing Scrabble. “We both realized how nerdy we were,” Kat says.

James was softer-spoken with PEOPLE, giving the mag a simple “yes” when asked if he’s happy. And his favorite thing about Kat Von D? “Everything.”
Von D says James’ cheating scandals didn’t faze her. “I stayed away from that as much as possible, and when we connected recently, it was such a positive thing. It was just like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t spent this much time with you the entire time I’ve known you.’ Now I’m just embracing it and enjoying it.” Continue Reading »

Hilton banned from Wynn resorts after Vegas arrest

LAS VEGAS – Smoke wafting from a Cadillac Escalade on the Las Vegas Strip ignited Paris Hilton’s latest legal troubles late Friday, when a motorcycle officer who suspected the smell was marijuana stopped the vehicle and police say a bag of cocaine fell out of the 29-year-old socialite’s purse.

It’s the second time this year Hilton has been arrested on drug possession allegations, although authorities in South Africa dropped marijuana charges earlier this summer. In 2007, Hilton pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving and was sentenced to 45 days in jail.

This time, the hotel heiress was with her boyfriend, Las Vegas nightclub mogul Cy Waits, who manages a club inside the Wynn Las Vegas and was driving the black SUV that the officer stopped nearby at 11:22 p.m. Friday.

The officer “followed the vapor trail and the odor of marijuana to the Escalade,” police Sgt. John Sheahan said.

As other police arrived and a crowd gathered on the busy neon-lit Strip, Hilton asked to go into the Wynn resort for privacy, Sheahan said.

“Miss Hilton pulled out a tube of lip balm,” Sheahan said. “At the same time … a bindle of cocaine in a plastic bag came out of her purse” in plain view of police in the room.

Police Officer Marcus Martin characterized the cocaine as a “small amount,” or a package of the size usually associated with personal use. Police would not specify the weight of the cocaine or whether any marijuana was confiscated.

Hilton was arrested on suspicion of felony cocaine possession. If convicted of the low-grade felony, she would get probation, but any violation of that probation would be punishable by up to one to four years in Nevada state prison.

Waits, 34, was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Misdemeanors are punishable by up to a year in county jail. Police said he owned the 2009 Cadillac.

Hilton and Waits were booked into the Clark County jail, where Sheahan said Hilton was kept handcuffed on a booking room bench, fingerprinted, photographed and released without bail about 2:45 a.m. Saturday.

Waits’ lawyer, Richard Schonfeld, said Waits posted $2,000 bail Saturday. Waits was released Saturday afternoon.

Sheahan said Hilton was not taken to a cell and received no special treatment on a busy Friday night and Saturday morning at the jail. He said release without bail was common in such cases.

Hilton, a prolific tweeter, didn’t mention the arrest on her Twitter site, although less than an hour after she was released her account was updated with a posting that said the actress was in bed watching the television show “Family Guy.”

It was unclear if the tweets came from her, were posted by time-release or were sent by someone else.

Hilton’s attorney, David Chesnoff, told The Associated Press on Saturday morning that he was still gathering facts about the arrest.

“This matter will be dealt with in the courts not in the media and I encourage people not to rush to judgment until all of the facts have been dealt with in a court of law,” Chesnoff said later in a statement. “There will be no interviews and no more comments at this time.”

Schonfeld said he was “troubled by the circumstances” leading to the arrest, but declined to specify his concerns.

“As the case proceeds, a lot of facts are going to come to light that will ultimately lead to exoneration,” Schonfeld said.

Court dates for Hilton and Waits were not immediately available. Clark County District Attorney David Roger declined to comment Saturday about the case.

A spokeswoman for Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.

Waits and his twin brother, Jesse, are managing partners of the Tryst Nightclub inside Wynn Las Vegas, Drai’s after hours club at Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon, and XS The Nightclub at Wynn’s Encore resort. A spokeswoman for Harrah’s resorts declined immediate comment.

Earlier this week, Hilton was in the news when a 31-year-old man allegedly tried to break into her Los Angeles home.

Authorities have said that someone carrying two big knives banged on Hilton’s window Tuesday. She posted a photo of the arrest on Twitter and described it as “scary.” Nathan Lee Parada faces a felony burglary charge.

Hilton was arrested this summer after the Brazil-Netherlands World Cup match in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, on suspicion of possession of marijuana. The case was then dropped at a midnight court hearing.

Hilton pleaded no contest in 2007 to alcohol-related reckless driving and was sentenced to 45 days in jail. After spending about 23 days in jail, Hilton told CNN host Larry King that the experience caused her to re-evaluate the role partying played in her life. She said she wanted “to help raise money for kids and for breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.”

While most famous for her tabloid exploits and reality TV series “The Simple Life,” Hilton has appeared in the films “Bottoms Up,” “The Hottie & the Nottie” and “House of Wax.”

Jon Gosselin gives threats (past tense)

Reality star and octo-parent Jon Gosselin threatened to report ex-wife Kate to Child Protective Services if she didn’t pay him a huge chunk of money, RadarOnline.com reports.

The proof comes in handwritten documents leaked by Jon’s post-Kate gal-pal Hailey Glassman. Radar calls it “the ugliest chapter in a brutal divorce.”

Glassman says: “We were in bed and Jon called Kate on speaker phone. He wrote down what he wanted to say to her and then he read from his notes. He told her, ‘You either give me money, or I’m going to call CPS [Child Protective Services].’” Part of the plan came from Jon and Kate’s daughter Maddy hurting her arm; Jon threatened to tells authorities Kate harmed the 9-year-old. Micahel Douglas talks cancer :(

Michael Douglas talked for the first time about his cancer Tuesday night on ‘The Late Show with Dave Letterman.’ The actor told the audience he’s in the middle of an “eight-week struggle” against throat cancer but is hopeful about his chances for recovery.

Douglas revealed that he was diagnosed three weeks ago, though he’d complained of a sore throat and ear pain at one point earlier this year. Testing at the time didn’t find a cause for the discomfort. When he returned to the doctor after a summer of traveling with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and their two kids, Dylan Michael and Carys Zeta, he was diagnosed with stage-four cancer, “which is intense, and so they’ve had to go at it,” he said. Jackson children + Body Guard = School

Michael Jackson’s two oldest children — Prince Michael, 13, and Paris, 12 — began their studies at a traditional school last Wednesday — their first experience outside of homeschooling. But before they could hit the books like “normal” kids, Prince and Paris had to first win over their skeptical grandmother, Katherine.

A family member close to the situation tells PopEater that Paris and Prince’s legal guardian protested the idea of sending the sheltered kids to school, feeling their father would have disapproved. However, one of Jermaine Jackson’s sons stepped in and encouraged Katherine to allow Prince and Paris to move away from homeschooling. Continue Reading »

Daredevil breaks high wire record

Nik Wallenda, self-professed “King of the High Wire,” broke his own world record in a stunt at Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas, as thousands of resort guests looked on.

More than 26 stories above the Caribbean Sea, on wire stretched 100 feet between the resort’s East and West Royal Towers, Wallenda broke the Guinness World Record for highest bicycle ride, the resort says.

A seventh generation member of the Flying Wallendas circus family, Wallenda far exceeded his previous “highest” record, achieved cycling 135 feet above the Prudential Building in Newark. Continue Reading »
